New Honda City

Honda City

Japanese automaker, Honda has started testing the next-gen City sedan on the Indian roads. While the global debut is expected in October-November in Thailand, the new Honda City could make India debut at the 2020 Auto Expo. In fact, the new model is rumoured to be launched around the biennial event in February or March. It will receive Honda’s new design language, upgraded and better quality interior and BSVI compliant engines. The sedan will be offered with BSVI compliant versions of the existing 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel engines. MG Motors had launched the Hector 5-seater SUV in the Indian market earlier this year. The SUV has received excellent response from buyers and is clocking sales over 1,500 units per month. The company is also readying a 7-or 6-seater version of the Hector, which is scheduled to be launched in India in the first quarter of 2020. Similar to the Hector, the 6-seater model will be based on the 2019 Baojun 530. It will be offered with individual captain seats for front and second row passengers. Mahindra’s lifestyle SUV, Thar will enter into new generation in early 2020. The new Mahindra Thar will receive significant changes like new GEN3 platform, new engine and a factory-fitted hardtop. It will come equipped with modern day features including multi-functional steering, new instrument console, music system, a provision to add touchscreen infotainment system and others. It will be powered by a newly developed 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which is expected to produce around 140bhp and over 350Nm of torque. Kia Carnival India Launch

Korean automaker, Kia will launch its second model for India in early 2020. The Carnival 7-seater MPV will arrive in our market during Auto Expo 2020. The company will bring in the facelifted version of the MPV. It will be powered by a BSVI compliant 2.2-litre CRDi diesel engine coupled to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. This engine churns out 202bhp of power and 441Nm of torque. In terms of proportions, the 7-seater Carnival is 5115mm in length, 1985mm in width and 1985mm in height (with roofrack). Its wheelbase stands at 3060mm.

Tata Buzzard/ Harrier 7-seater

Tata Motors will launch an all-new 7-seater SUV based on the Harrier. The new model was showcased as the Buzzard at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. It is around 63mm longer than the standard Harrier, though the wheelbase remains the same. In terms of proportions, the Tata Buzzard is 4,661mm long, 1,894mm wide and 1,786mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,741mm. Compared to the Harrier 5-seater, the Tata Buzzard 7-seater SUV is around 63mm longer, 72mm wider and 80mm taller. The Tata Buzzard 7-seater SUV will be powered by the same 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine that also powers the Harrier. This engine will produce 170bhp and 350Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
