Korean automaker, Hyundai is all set to launch the next-gen Creta SUV in the Indian market on March 16, 2020. The new Hyundai Creta 5-seater premium SUV will directly rival the Kia Seltos, which is basically its Korean cousin. Here we bring you 5 key features that you will find in the new Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos –

Same Platform

The new-gen Hyundai Creta is based on the modified version of the K2 platform, which also underpins the Verna and Elantra sedans. In fact, the Kia Seltos is also based on this platform. This platform is compatible enough to accommodate a 7-seater SUV, which is likely to be launched in 2021.

Engine and Gearbox Combinations

The new Hyundai Creta sources its engine mechanism with the Seltos SUV. It will be offered in 3 engine options – a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel and a 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol. The naturally aspirated petrol engine is capable of producing 115PS and 144Nm, the oil burner is good for 115PS and 250Nm of torque. The turbocharged petrol engine churns out 140PS of power and 242Nm of torque.

Touchscreen Infotainment System

The new Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos come equipped with the same 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Voice navigation and others. Both SUVs also get connected car technology. While Hyundai connected car technology is called the Blue Link, Kia calls is UVO Connect.

Similar Interior Colour Scheme

The next-gen Hyundai Creta is available with a dual-tone black and beige interior scheme, which is similar to the Kia Seltos. The top-spec variant, which is available with 1.4L petrol with 7-speed DCT, is available with all-black interior scheme with contrasting red-accents. The same interior theme is also available in the Kia Seltos.

Key Features

Both SUVs are equipped with several segment-leading and useful features including the ventilated front seats, air purifier, wireless charging, a 7-inch full-colour digital instrument console and sunroof.
