5 Big New Car Launches/Debut In Next 2 Weeks – Confirmed

In the next two weeks of January, we will witness some big new SUV launches and unveilings of 2021. Here’re the launch and unveiling dates and details of the upcoming 5 new SUVs, which are confirmed for the remaining two weeks of this month.  

1. Tata Altroz iTurbo22nd Jan

Tata Motors will expand the Altroz premium hatchback lineup with the addition of the new iTurbo variants. Prices of the new Tata Altroz iTurbo will be announced on coming 22nd and it arrive at showrooms on 26th January. The model will come in three trims – XT, XZ and XZ+ – and a new Harbour Blue. An optional light grey interior theme and Sporty Black paint job with contrast black roof will also be available on XZ and XZ+ trims. The model will come with a 108bhp, 2.0L turbo petrol engine and a 5-speed manual gearbox. Tata has also equipped with the Altroz iTurbi with a bunch of new features including iRA connected car technology.

2. Tata Safari 26th Jan

The next big launch from the home-grown carmaker will be the new Tata Safari that’s slated to make debut on 26th January. The new Safari is based on the Gravitas that was previewed at the 2020 Auto Expo. Reports suggest that the new 7-seater SUV from Tata will come in 4 variants – XE, XM, XT and XZ – packed with a 170bhp, 2.0L turbo diesel engine. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer. It will be Tata’s new flagship SUV measuring longer, wider and taller than the Harrier. Some of its key features will include iRA connected car tech, a panoramic sunroof, electric parking brake with auto hold function, reverse parking sensors, automatic vehicle hold and more.  

3. New Jeep Compass27th Jan

The new Jeep Compass facelift is slated to hit roads on coming 27th. The SUV will come with improved styling and some extra goodies including the FCA’s latest generation UConnect infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The 2021 Compass facelift will also receive a 360 degree parking camera, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, double stitched leather inserts, an 8-way adjustable electric seats, a new three-spoke steering wheel, and more. Under the hood, the new model will feature the same 173bhp, 2.0L diesel and 163bhp, 1.4L turbo petrol engines paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

4. Renault Kiger 28th Jan

Renault will unveil its all-new Kiger sub-4 meter SUV on 28th January, followed by its launch in the second quarter of this year (possibly in April, 2021). The new small SUV will underpin the CMF-A+ modular platform that has already been used in the Triber compact MPV. Engine setup of the Kiger will include a 1.0L naturally aspirated petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol promising power worth 72bhp with 96Nm and 99bhp with 160Nm respectively. While a 5-speed manual gearbox will be standard across the model lineup, a CVT automatic will be reserved for turbo petrol variants.

5. Skoda Kushaq

Skoda Auto will unveil the production ready version of the Vision IN concept based compact SUV in January, 2021. However, its debut date is yet to be announced by the carmaker. Its launch is likely to happen in March or April. In the mid-size SUV space, it will face challenge from cars like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. It will be brand’s first model to underpin locally-developed MQB A0 IN modular platform. The Skoda Kushaq will be made available with two engine options – 1.0L turbo petrol and 1.5L turbo petrol. While the former will make 108bhp with 175Nm of torque, the latter will deliver 148bhp with 250Nm. There will be three gearboxes on offer – a 6-speed MT, 6-speed torque converter, a 7-speed DSG automatic.
