Nissan Magnite

Nissan Magnite Compact SUV Teased

Japanese automaker, Nissan is all set to launch the Magnite sub-4 meter SUV in India in mid-2020. Codenamed EM2, the new model will be based on the heavily localised CMF-A+ platform that also underpins the Renault Triber. The new model will be powered by a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which is capable of producing 99bhp of power and 160Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a CVT automatic.

Renault HBC

Renault HBC Launch

Next in our list of upcoming affordable petrol SUVs is the Renault HBC, which has been spotted testing multiple times. Likely to be called the Renault Kiger, the new SUV will be based CMF-A+ platform. The new model will be equipped with a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that produces 99bhp of power and 160Nm of torque. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Tata HBX

Tata HBX Micro SUV

Tata Motors has officially announced that the production version of the HBX micro SUV will be launched in the first quarter of 2021. It will be the brand’s second model based on the ALFA modular platform, first being the Altroz premium hatchback. The Tata HBX micro SUV will be powered by a single 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder Revotron petrol engine that currently powers the Tiago, Tigor and the Altroz. This engine produces 85bhp of power and 110Nm of torque. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit.

Kia Sonet

Upcoming Cars Under 10 Lakhs

Buoyed by excellent response for Seltos and Carnival, Kia Motors is now readying a wide range of UVs for the Indian market. Coming this August, Kia will launch the production version of the Sonet Compact SUV in India. The Kia Sonet is based on the Hyundai Venue’s platform. It will be offered with 2 petrol engines – a 82bhp, 1.2-litre naturally-aspirated petrol and a 118bhp, 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual (1.2L), a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT (1.0L).

Expected Price – Rs 7 lakh – Rs 10 lakh
Launch – August 2020
