4 All-New Tata cars Launching In India In The Next 2 Years

Buoyed by excellent response for Tiago and Nexon, Tata Motors is now planning to launch a range of new cars in the next couple of years. The company will soon introduce the performance oriented Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP. Both models were showcased at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. Adding to it, the homegrown will soon start rolling out electric Rigor and Tiago for public. Besides these, Tata is working on 4 all-new models for the Indian market –

Tata Harrier

Tata Motors had showcased the H5X premium SUV concept at the Auto Expo 2018. The company has confirmed a five-seater SUV based on this platform will go on sale in the first quarter of 2019. Called the Tata Harrier, the SUV will take on the likes of Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta and others in its category. Measure over 4.5 meter in length, the SUV will be bigger in size compared to Jeep Compass. It is based on new OMEGA platform, which is basically the modified version of the Land Rover Discovery’s platform. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre MJD diesel engine that also powers the Jeep Compass.

Launch – Q1, 2019
Expected Price – 12 lakh – 18 lakh

Tata H7X

The company is also working on a 7-seater derivative of the Harrier SUV, which has already been spotted testing on Indian roads. This model will come at a premium price tag and will take on the likes of Honda CR-V 7-seater and Mahindra XUV700. It will share most of the components with the Harrier including the platform and engine. Though, the engine will be more powerful in terms of power and torque numbers. It is expected to offer 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque.

Launch – Early 2019
Expected Price – Rs 16 lakh – Rs 22 lakh

Tata 45X

Tata Motors is also aiming to enter into the highly competitive B+ premium hatchback segment, which is currently dominated by Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20. The company will launch a premium hatchback based on the 45X concept, which was unveiled at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. The new model will come equipped with segment leading comfort and convenience features along with safety tech. It is likely to share mechanics with Nexon – 110bhp, 1.2-litre petrol and 110bhp, 1.5-litre diesel – which will make it one of the most powerful in its category.

Launch – Mid 2019
Expected Price – Rs 6 lakh – Rs 9 lakh

New Tata sedan

Tata Motors is also working on a mid-sized sedan, which is most likely to use the 45X’s Alpha platform. The new sedan will take on the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna and Maruti Ciaz. It is likely to share design cues from the Tata E-Vision concept, which is based on the OMEGA platform. This model is most likely to share design, interior and engine specs from the 45X hatchback.

Launch – early 2020
Expected Price – Rs 8 lakh – Rs 13 lakh
