Hyundai Venue

The Korean automaker, Hyundai will launch the much-awaited Venue compact SUV on May 20, 2019. This will be the brand’s smallest SUV and will also go on sale in the global markets. It will challenge the likes of Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Mahindra XUV300 and the newly launched Mahindra XUV300. The sub-4 meter SUV will be available in 3 engine options – a 118bhp, 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol, a 83bhp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and a 89bhp, 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel. MG Hector

Morris Garages, the British carmaker will start its India innings with an all-new 5-seater premium SUV called the MG Hector. The 5-seater SUV will directly rival the likes of Tata Harrier, Mahindra XUV500 and Hyundai Tucson. It is based on the Baojun 530 SUV, which is already on sale in the Chinese market. The SUV will be available with 2 engine options – a 171bhp, 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel and a 143bhp, 1.5-litre turbo petrol. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer. Honda HR-V

The long-awaited Honda HR-V SUV will finally go on sale in the Indian market this year. The SUV will be imported to India via CKD route and will be assembled at the brand’s Greater Noida plant. The Honda HR-V will share the engines with the Civic, which means the SUV will get a 1.8-litre i-VTEC petrol and a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel. Kia SP2i

Korean brand, Kia will officially launch its first product in the Indian market in the mid-2019. To be based on the Kia SP2i concept, the new SUV will challenge the likes of Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and the Tata Harrier. The SUV will be available with the newly developed 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. Both manual and automatic versions will be on offer.
