Maruti Suzuki is aiming to completely revamp its entire line-up. After introducing the new Baleno and the XL6, Maruti Suzuki will soon introduce new NEXA only models. The company will launch 3 new SUVs including the Grand Vitara and the Jimny in the country. Adding to it, the MSIL is also preparing a new SUV Coupe to be sold through NEXA premium dealership network.
1. Maruti Grand Vitara
Maruti Suzuki will announce the prices of the new Grand Vitara SUV in September 2022. The new model will rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and the MG Astor. It is based on Suzuki’s Global-C platform that underpins the new-gen S-Cross. The new model will be produced at Toyota’s production facility in Bidadi, Karnataka. It will be offered with two engine options – a 1.5L K15C petrol with a mild-hybrid tech and a Toyota-sourced 1.5L TNGA Atkinson cycle engine with strong hybrid tech. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed AT and a e-CVT with strong hybrid only.
2. Maruti YTB SUV Coupe
Maruti Suzuki is preparing an all-new SUV Coupe, which is scheduled to make debut at Auto Expo 2023. It is expected to be launched in February next year. The new model will be based on Suzuki’s lightweight HEARTECT platform that underpins the new Baleno. The new model will be sold alongside the Brezza and will target the higher spec Venue and the Sonet. It is reportedly to be powered by a Suzuki’s Boosterjet petrol engine with a higher degree of electrification.
3. Maruti Jimny
MSIL will finally launch the much-awaited Jimny lifestyle SUV in the country in 2023. The company will launch the Long Wheelbase version of the SUV, which has already been spotted testing multiple times on foreign soil. It is likely to make India debut at Auto Expo 2023 in January. The new model will be powered by a 1.5L K15C petrol engine with a mild hybrid tech. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.
