3 Popular Motorcycles To Make A Comeback – Hero Karizma

We have witnessed several motorcycles being re-introduced including the Yezdi and Jawa in the past 2-3 years. In fact, Bajaj re-launched the Pulsar 220F to regain the lost market share. In this article, we talk about top 3 motorcycles to return in our market in the next couple of years –

Yamaha R3

Yamaha R3 India Launch

Yamaha is aiming to re-introduce a wide range of premium motorcycles in our market. If reports are to be believed, Yamaha could re-launch the R3 fully-faired motorcycle in our market in 2023. The motorcycle has received some changes recently in the global markets in the form of new sleek LED indicators and a new purple colour. It is powered by a liquid-cooled, 321cc, parallel-twin engine that produces 42bhp and 29.5Nm of torque. Based on a diamond frame chassis, the motorcycle gets a 37mm USD front fork and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. It comes with a slipper clutch and a dual-channel ABS. The new Yamaha R3 will rival the likes of the KTM RC 390, BMW G 310 RR and the Kawasaki Ninja 400.

Bajaj Avenger 220 Street

Bajaj Avenger Street 220 Discontinued

Bajaj is currently selling the Avenger 220 Cruise in our market. It is reportedly planning to re-introduce the Avenger 220 Street, which will share the mechanics with the Cruise. The motorcycle is powered by the same air/oil-cooled, 220cc, single-cylinder engine that produces 19bhp and 17.55Nm of torque, and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. For suspension duties, the bike gets a telescopic front fork and twin shock absorbers at the rear. The motorcycle is likely to get a front disc brake and drum at the rear. It will have blacked-out panels and alloy wheels. It will miss out on the backrest and large front windscreen.

Hero Karizma

New Hero Karizma

Hero MotoCorp is currently testing several new motorcycles including the XPulse 400 and new Karizma on the Indian roads. The next-gen Hero Karizma will be a fully-faired motorcycle with low-set handlebars offering a sporty riding position. The fully-faired bike will have a short windscreen, while the rear gets a narrow tail section with a split seat and a short exhaust with a heat shield. The bike will have disc brakes at both ends along with a dual-channel ABS. The spotted model gets an upside-down front fork and a mono-shock at the rear. Hero MotoCorp has also filed a trademark for the ‘Karizma XMR’ nameplate. It is expected to be powered by a new 210cc, liquid-cooled engine paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
