3 New Maruti Ertiga CNG Variants Launching Soon

Maruti Suzuki introduced the updated Ertiga in April 2022 at a starting price of Rs 8.35 lakh. The MPV has been offered in 11 variants including 5 petrol manual, 3 petrol automatic and 3 CNG. Now, the carmaker is planning to expand the new Ertiga model lineup with addition of 3 new CNG variants – VXi (O), ZXi (O) and Tour M (O). At present, the 2022 Maruti Ertiga CNG is available in VXi, ZXi and Tour M variants priced at Rs 10.44 lakh, Rs 11.54 lakh and Rs 10.41 lakh respectively (all, ex-showroom).

The 2022 Maruti Ertiga sources its power from a new 1.5-litre DualJet engine that has two injectors per cylinder and start-stop technology. The motor makes a top power of 103bhp at 6,000rpm and 136.8Nm at 4,400rpm. Compared to the old engine, the updated one is 2bhp less powerful and 1.2Nm less torqueier.

New Maruti Ertiga CNG Variants

Maruti will use the same engine in the second-generation Brezza that’s due for June 2022. The MPV can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a new 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The automatic variants come with paddle shifters. The new Maruti Ertiga offers a claimed mileage of 20.52kmpl and 20.30kmpl with manual and automatic gearbox respectively. The 2022 Maruti Ertiga CNG comes with the same 1.5L Dualjet engine making power worth 87bhp with 121.5Nm when run on CNG and 100bhp with 136Nm when run on petrol mode. It is available with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. Maruti Suzuki claims that the Ertiga CNG can go 26.11km/kg.

As of now, there is no official word on the new Ertiga CNG variants. We expect that the carmaker will offer some extra features on the VXi (O), ZXi (O) and Tour M (O) variants including a 7-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system, leather wrapped steering with metallic teak-wood finish, cruise control, key operated retractable ORVMs and auto headlamps with follow me home function.
