Honda Cars India will soon introduce three new models in the country. The lineup includes the fifth-generation City sedan, WR-V facelift and BS6 Jazz. Official launch dates of the vehicles, however, are yet to be announced. Earlier, the 2020 Honda City was scheduled to unveil on 16th March, followed by its launch in April. Due to COVID-19 crisis and the nationwide lockdown, the carmaker cancelled the unveiling event and postponed its launch to May, 2020.
Built on an all-new platform, the 2020 Honda City will come with BS6-compliant 1.5L i-VTEC petrol and 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engines. While the former will generate power worth 119bhp and 145Nm of torque, the latter will deliver 99bhp with 200Nm. Transmission options will include manual and CVT gearbox.
The 2020 Honda WR-V facelift has also been confirmed by the carmaker. In fact, official bookings for the compact SUV have already been commenced at an initial sum of Rs 21,000. The vehicle will receive minimal changes inside and out including a new front grille and LED package. Engine setup of the updated WR-V will have the BS6-ready version of the existing 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel engines. The model lineup will continue to come with a 5-speed manual gearbox.
The 2020 Honda Jazz hatchback has been listed on the company’s official website. The carmaker has confirmed that the updated model will come with the BS6 1.2L i-VTEC petrol and 1.5L i-DTEC diesel engine options. In their BS4 form, the motors deliver 89bhp with 110Nm and 99bhp with 200Nm respectively. Mileage figure of the new Jazz diesel is likely to be dropped.
Details of the BS6 Honda Jazz are yet to be revealed. Though, the carmaker might make minor design changes and feature upgrades to the hatchback. However, most of the design elements and components will be carried over from the existing model.
