3 All-New Upcoming 250cc Motorcycles In India

The Indian auto industry is on a recovery path, as most of the automakers are posting double digit growth in the past 3-4 months. In order to further improve sales, two-wheeler automakers are now planning to introduce multiple new motorcycles above 200cc category. In this article, we bring you a list of upcoming new 250cc motorcycles to be launched in the Indian market in the next couple of years –

Yamaha FZ-X Adventure

After launching the FZ25 and the Fazer 250, Yamaha is now readying to launch an all-new 250cc Adventure Motorcycle. The upcoming motorcycle is expected to be based on the Yamaha FZ25 is reported to be named ‘Yamaha FZ-X.’ The model will share its platform and design bits and features with the FZ25. 

The motorcycle’s design seems inspired by the Yamaha Tracer series. It will have sharply designed headlamp and a windshield. The motorcycle will also share the cycle parts and design parts including the fuel tank with the FZS-25. The bike is expected to have semi fairing, a single piece handlebar with knuckle guards, split seat, wire-spoke wheels with wide tyres, a massive black exhaust, and new Bluetooth connectivity feature. The motorcycle will have conventional suspension system with telescopic forks and monoshock at the rear. It will get disc brakes along with ABS. It will be powered by a 249cc single-cylinder, air-cooled motor that produces 20.8PS and 20.1Nm of torque.

Japanese two-wheeler maker, Suzuki is also working on all-new Intruder 250cc cruiser motorcycle. In fact, the patent images of the cruiser have also been leaked on the Internet. The motorcycle will share styling cues from the Intruder 150; however, it will have bigger body and more features. The Suzuki Introducer 250 will have a dual-barrel setup, LED tail-lamp, LED DRLs and digital instrument console.

The bike is likely to be powered by the same 249cc single-cylinder BS6-compliant engine that also powers the Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250. This fuel injected engine churns out a maximum power output of 26.5PS at 9,300rpm and a peak torque of 22.2Nm at 7,300rpm. Power will be transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. Suzuki engineers will likely to tune this engine to meet the needs of a cruiser motorcycle. This engine could offer higher torque and less power compared to the regular Gixxer range.

Bajaj Auto is working on the next generation Pulsar range, which includes the all-new Pulsar 150 and the Pulsar 250. The new motorcycle will be based on an all-new platform and will receive all-new design, new powertrain and features. The bike will receive all-LED lighting system, split-seat layout and digital instrument console.

It is likely to be powered by a Duke’s 250cc engine, which is a single-cylinder liquid-cooled unit. This engine churns out 30PS of power and 24Nm of torque. However, the Pulsar 250’s engine will be de-tuned for higher fuel efficiency. ABS system will come as standard, while slipper clutch could also be on offer. The motorcycle will have telescopic front forks and monoshock suspension at the rear.
