26,840 Kia Seltos SUV Sold Within 70 Days
Korean automaker, Kia Motors entered in our market with the Seltos premium SUV in August, 2019. The SUV has been receiving overwhelming response from car buyers with bookings already crossing 60,000 mark. The company had delivered 12,850 units of the Seltos SUV in the month of October 2019. In August and September, Kia delivered 6,236 units and 7,754 units of the Seltos respectively.
Since its launch in August 2019, Kia has sold 26,840 units of Seltos in less than 70 days. With these numbers, the Korean automaker became India’s 5th larger auto manufacturer. The Kia Seltos has also become India’s best-selling SUV in October 2019, beating the likes of the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Creta and the Hyundai Venue in terms of sales. The company has started the 2nd shift to ramp up the production at its facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh.
Kia has no plans to close the bookings as the production facility is fully capable of meeting the rising demand for the Seltos. The carline is available in 2 trim levels – Tech Line and GT Line – and in total of 18 variants. The SUV is available in 3 engine options – a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol. Also See – Kia QYI compact SUV caught testing
The turbocharged petrol engine is capable of producing 138bhp of power and 242Nm of torque. While the 1.5L petrol engine produces 113bhp and 144Nm, the oil burner is good for 113bhp and 250Nm. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual as standard, a 7-speed dual-clutch (1.4L), a 6-speed torque convertor automatic (1.5L Diesel) and a 6-speed CVT automatic (1.5L Petrol).
