The previous teaser reveals the front styling of the new 3-row MPV, which seems inspired from global Toyota models including the Corolla Cross. The Toyota Innova Hycross has a prominent front fascia, featuring a larger and upright hexagonal grille. It features an all-new headlamp setup with two L-shaped inserts housing the main unit. Strong creases are added on the bonnet, while the bumper has triangular housings for the fog lamp.

The new model has been caught testing multiple times in India as well as in Indonesia. The new Toyota Innova Hycross is likely to share styling cues from the Avanza MPV on sale in South Asian countries. At the back, the Innova hybrid will come with horizontally oriented tail-lamps with LED brake lights, and newly styled 10-spoke alloy wheels.

Toyota Innova Hycross Specs, Features

The new Toyota Innova Hycross will be based on TNGA-C global platform that underpins the Corolla Cross. It is a front-wheel-drive, monocoque platform, and will offer a wheelbase of 2,850mm. The new model will measure around 4.7 meters in length. The larger wheelbase will help Toyota to create more space inside the cabin. Similar to the existing model, the new Innova Hycross will offer multiple seating options.

In terms of features, the new Innova comes with features like a 360 degree camera, a factory-fitted electric sunroof, wireless charging, a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, an ‘ottoman function’ for the captain’s chairs in the second row, etc. The MPV will also get Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) with features like automatic emergency brakes, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, road sign assist, dynamic radar cruise control and automatic high beam.

The new model will come with two engine options – a 2.0L petrol and a 2.0L petrol with a strong hybrid tech. It could get the heavily localized version of the THS II (Toyota Hybrid System), which has a twin-motor layout that enhance its high ‘step-off’ torque and fuel efficiency.
