Japanese automaker, Suzuki has started testing the next-gen Swift hatchback on foreign soil. A new media report claims that the 2023 Suzuki Swift hatchback will make global debut in December 2022; however, Suzuki is yet to make an official announcement on the same. The new model will also arrive in our market sometime next year.
It is expected that the 2023 Suzuki Swift could be unveiled in India at the 2023 Auto Expo in January. The spy images reveal that the new Swift will come with a new front grille and sleeker headlamps with new LED elements, and a new front bumper. The all-new front bumper has wider and lower air intake.
The bumper accommodates new C-shaped air splitters with fog lamp clusters. The hatchback will come with new body panels and larger dual-tone alloy wheels. It will have blacked-out pillars, faux air vents on the wheel arches and a roof-mounted spoiler. The door handles are now placed on doors, as the current model has rear door handles on the C-pillar.
The 2023 Suzuki Swift will be based on the modified & stronger HEARTECT platform that underpins the new Baleno hatchback. The cabin will also receive significant changes in terms of features and better-quality plastic. It is expected to get Suzuki’s new SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity and Suzuki Connect – connected car tech.
The report reveals that the 2023 Swift will be offered with a 1.2L NA petrol engine and a 1.2L NA petrol engine with a mild hybrid tech. Both manual and AMT gearboxes will be on offer. Similar to the current model, the next Swift for India could also receive CNG option. The company will also introduce the new-gen Swift Sport with a powerful 1.4L Boosterjet turbo petrol engine.
