2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450cc Spotted; More Power, Better Design

We reported earlier that Royal Enfield is working on multiple new motorcycles, which will be launched in the next 2 years. The company plans to launch a new Hunter 350, 3 new 650cc motorcycles & the next-gen Himalayan. The 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450cc has been spotted testing for the first time.

It is likely to be launched in the first quarter of 2023. Codenamed K1, the new 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will be launched as a premium adventure bike. It is expected to be positioned above the existing Himalayan 411. The new model will rival the likes of the KTM 390 ADV, BMW G310GS and others.

The next-gen Himalayan 450 will be based on the all-new platform. The motorcycle looks like a premium version of the current model. Some of the design features include round headlamp & rear-view mirrors, raised fender, 21-inch front & 17-inch rear wheel, and knobby tyres.

The 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will offer relaxed riding ergonomics, which is also visible from the spy image. It gets centrally placed footpegs, wide handlebar and new seat with better cushioning. The motorcycle also gets the upswept exhaust in metallic finish. It comes with a compact windscreen, bigger fuel tank, and a new digital instrument console. What’s interesting is the design of the instrument panel, which is weirdly positioned. The 2023 Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 will be powered by a new 450cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, which is likely to produce close to 40bhp of power. The new model is expected to deliver better low and mid-range performance. The current model is powered by a 411cc engine that offers 24.3bhp and 32Nm, and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

The new Himalayan 450 will be based on a new trellis frame. It will have USD front forks and monoshock at the rear. It is expected to be priced around Rs 2.7 lakh, which will still make it cheaper than the KTM 390 ADV & the BMW G310GS.
