2023 MG Hector Might Come In Feature-Packed Sharp Trim Only

MG Motor India’s top-selling SUV – Hector – is all set to receive a mid-life update in early 2023. The carmaker will reveal its prices on 5th January along with official unveiling of the MG Air EV. According to a latest RTO document, the new 2023 MG Hector facelift could be offered in a single, top-end Sharp trim. Currently, the SUV model lineup comes in 12 variants spread across four trims – Style, Shine, Smart and Sharp.

The Sharp EX CVT petrol, Sharp CVT petrol and Sharp diesel manual models are available at Rs 19.72 lakh, Rs 19.73 lakh and Rs 20.36 lakh respectively (all, ex-showroom). The updated range-topping Hector Sharp variant could be sold alongside the SUV’s pre-facelift version.

2023 MG Hector Variant

The carmaker revealed that the interior of the new Hector has been conceptualized as a ‘Symphony of Luxury’. It has dual-tone theme with dual-layer dashboard and D-shaped AC vents and piano black and chrome treatment. The 2023 MG Hector facelift will feature a 14-inch HD touchscree infotainment system with the Next-Gen i-Smart technology and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.

The SUV will receive Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) as a major feature upgrade. The ADAS suite will offer features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, speed assist system, rear drive assist and intelligent headlamp control. The new Hector will also get a fully digital 7-inch configurable instrument console.

No changes will be made to its engine setup. The new 2023 MG Hector facelift will use the same 1.5L turbo petrol hybrid and 2.0L turbo diesel engines. The petrol hybrid unit makes 143PS with 250Nm and the oil burner is good for 170PS and 350Nm. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be standard, while the petrol hybrid variants will be exclusively offered with a CVT automatic transmission.
