The Korean automaker, Hyundai is preparing the new Creta facelift and the next-gen Verna sedan for the Indian market. Both models are expected to be introduced at the 2023 Auto Expo in January. In fact, Hyundai has fast paced the production of the new-gen 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan for the Indian market. It is expected that the 2023 Hyundai Verna will make global debut at the 2023 Auto Expo in January.
The 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan will be bigger than the outgoing model and will offer more space inside the cabin. The bigger size will make it more acceptable in more international markets including the US. It will be positioned against the likes of the Honda City, Skoda Slavia and the Volkswagen Virtus. Adding to it, Hyundai has no immediate plans to launch the new-gen Elantra sedan as the new Verna with bigger size and high-end features will eliminate the need for a separate executive sedan in our market.
Codenamed BN7, the 2023 Hyundai Verna will come with more modern styling with design inspiration from the new-gen Elantra sedan. It will feature Hyundai’s new ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language, which we have already seen on the new Elantra and the Tucson. The new model will feature a new parametric-jewel-pattern grille with turn-signal integration wide. The grille comes with integrated full-LED headlamp and aggressive bumper.
The 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan will come with a fastback-like styling with a tapered roof. It is also likely to get the high-tech “H-Tail Lamp” that creates a Hyundai flying H logo-like shape, a wing-type lower bumper treatment & a tapered roofline to enhance the coupe-like look. The new sedan is also expected to come with a long list of features including ADAS technology. The Verna with ADAS will be positioned against the new Honda City Hybrid. The ADAS features will include autonomous emergency braking, collision warning & avoidance system, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, high-beam assist, adaptive cruise control and others.
The 2023 Hyundai Verna sedan is expected to be offered with 3 engine options – a 115bhp, 1.5L NA petrol, a 115bhp, 1.5L turbo-diesel and a more powerful 138bhp, 1.4-litre turbo-petrol. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer. The sedan could also get a 1.0L turbo petrol engine with a DCT gearbox.
