Hyundai Motors has recently launched the facelifted Grand i10 Nios in India, with prices starting from Rs 5.69 lakh (ex-showroom). It is the hatch’s first major update since its generation upgrade, which comprises some noteworthy design changes in the exterior and a rejig in its features list. And so, we decided to compare the newer iteration of the Grand i10 Nios with its pre-facelift version.
Design
Looking at the new Grand i10 Nios’ front profile, the design appears more evolutionary than revolutionary. Its revised front grille with angular side body-colour inserts that house faux air dams and arrow-shaped LED DRLs do provide a sportier appearance to the hatch. Additionally, the upgraded model does not come with fog lamps. There is also a new design for the alloy wheels, a reprofiled tailgate, along with an integrated light bar for the new LED tail lamps on the mid-size hatchback.
Interior and Features
Compared to the older Grand i10 Nios that featured a semi-digital instrument cluster, the facelifted hatch gets conventional analogue dials with a multi-info display (MID) in the centre. It also gets new upholstery, plus the interior can be had in three colour combinations: black/grey, black with red inserts, and black with green insets.
Compared to its predecessor, the 2023 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios has a wealth of new features, especially in the safety department. Having said that, it has received six airbags (four are standard), electronic stability control, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and hill-hold control. It also receives cruise control for added driving convenience.
Mechanical
Hyundai has offered the 2023 Grand i10 Nios facelift with the same 83PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine as its older model that can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT unit. This power mill can also be had with a factory-fitted CNG kit, albeit only with 5-speed manual transmission. Also, its power output drops to 69PS when fed with natural gas.
No confirmation has been made regarding the return of the 1-litre turbo-petrol engine.
Price
With all the above-mentioned changes, the prices of the 2023 Hyundai Grand i10 Nios have gone up by up to Rs 38,000, depending on the variant. Here’s a look at its complete price list: –
