2022 Toyota Land Cruiser Global Unveil On 9th June – Key Details

The new-generation Toyota Land Cruiser is all set to make its world debut on 9th June 2021 in Dubai. While there is no official word on its India launch timeline, it’s likely to arrive towards the end of this year or early next year. As per the leaked information, the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser will be offered in three trims (GX-R, GR-S and ZX) in the South African markets. Designed by Toyota’s Gazoo Racing division, the GR-Sport variant will feature E-Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (E-KDSS) and differential locks at the front and rear axles. The GX-R and ZX trims will come with the independent upfront and four-link suspension at the rear.

The 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser will be offered with two engine options – 3.3L V6 turbo diesel and 3.5L twin turbo petrol. Both motors will be paired to a 10-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. In select global markets, the SUV will be available with a new 2.8L, 4-cylinder common rail diesel motor producing a massive power of 200bhp and 500Nm of torque. The new Land Cruiser will have 4WD (four-wheel drive) system with a low range transfer case.

The latest spy pictures reveal that the new-generation model will look more refreshing than the existing one. Upfront, it will feature a large rectangular chrome grille surrounded by a U-shaped intake, slimmer headlamps and updated bumper. Unlike the current model that has soft curves, the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser will carry sharper side creases. Design elements such as the new greenhouse area, pronounced wheel arches and door mounted mirrors seem borrowed from the Land Cruiser Prado. The off-road focus GR-S trim will be exclusively offered with tubular side steps and 18-inch wheels. The 20-inch wheels, a powered tailgate with a kick sensor and illuminated side steps will be reserved for the top-end ZX trim. The list of features will also include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a 3D multi-terrain monitor, heads-up display, premium leather upholstery, four-zone climate control, rear seat entertainment with dual 11.6-innch touchscreens, rear camera with a rear washer, a 360 degree camera and premium leather upholstery.
