Mercedes-Benz India is ready to roll out the new 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class on 3rd March. While its prices will be announced in coming days, it’s expected to cost around Rs 2 crore (ex-showroom). The model lineup is likely to be offered in two variants – S580 and S680 – which are expected to come locally assembled and CBU (Completely Built Up) units respectively.
The S580 will derive its power from a 4.0-litre V8 engine producing a peak power of 503bhp and 700Nm. The motor has been benefited with a 48V mild hybrid system that enables it to deliver an additional power of 20hp and 200Nm of torque.
The range-topping S 680 will use a 6.0-litre V12 engine that’s capable to produce a maximum power of 612bhp and a massive torque of 900Nm. Both engines come with a 9-speed automatic gearbox as standard. The model will get air-ride suspension as standard fitment along with the rear-wheel steering.
Design and styling of the new 2022 Mercedes-Maybach S-class will be similar to the existing model. It will sit on a longer wheelbase (3396mm) and have larger rear door aside than the regular S-Class. The model will measure 5469mm in length, 1921mm in width and 1510mm in height. Some of its key design elements will include the signature Maybach grille, C-pillar with Maybach logo, differently designed wheels and lots of chrome treatment.
Interior layout and features of the new 2022 Mercedes Maybach S-Class will be similar to the regular S-class. What distinguish it from the standard model are features such as Maybach specific upholstery, graphics for the touchscreen and trim inserts. It will offer a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.8-inch digital instrument cluster and tablets for the rear seat occupants.
The list of features also includes reclining seats, folding tables, powered rear seats, seat massage, wireless headsets, a boss mode to stretch out on the co-driver side, a 10-litre refrigerator, head-up display and many more.
