Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) is ready to introduce the updated Ertiga MPV and WagonR hatchback in March 2022. We have seen test mules of both models revealing a few design and feature details. Ahead of its launch, the brochure scans of the new 2022 Maruti WagonR facelift have been leaked on the web.
As per the leaked document, the hatchback will come in dual-tone colour schemes – Gallant Red with Black roof and ORVMs and Magma Grey with Black roof and ORVMs.
The new WagonR will have dual-tone Grey Melange fabric along with a 7-inch SmartPlay Studio system with smartphone connectivity and navigation. Features such as a premium audio system with 4 speakers, auto gear shift technology and steering mounted controls will also be new on-board.
The 2022 Maruti WagonR facelift will also be high on safety. There will be over 12 safety fitments including hill hold assist (standard), dual airbags (standard), rear parking sensors, ABS with EBD, central locking system, speed alert system, security alarm, front fog lamps, seat belt reminder with buzzer, seat belt pre-tensioner and force limiter, speed sensitive auto door lock and child proof rear door lock.
Under the hood, the hatchback will have a 1.0L K10C petrol and a 1.2L K12N petrol (90bhp/113Nm) engine. Both motors will be available with a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox. The new Dualjet engine, which is boosted with the idle start stop technology, will promise fuel efficiency of 25.19kmpl. The model lineup will receive a CNG version at a later stage.
With improved safety quotient, more features and power, the new 2022 Maruti WagonR facelift will witness a price hike of around Rs 10,000 – 15,000. At present, it comes in the price range of Rs 5.18 lakh – Rs 6.58 lakh (ex-showroom). The hatch will continue to take on the Tata Tiago and Hyundai Santro.
