Maruti Suzuki Swift hatchback has been among the top-selling models from the Indo-Japanese carmaker since its launch in 2017. 1. Heartect Platform
Similar to Maruti Suzuki’s new breed cars, the new-generation Swift will switch to the Heartect platform. The architecture has been designed using Ultra & Advanced High Strength Steels. In a case of collision, it’s claimed to absorb and distribute impact energy across the vehicle structure, thus providing better protection, stability and control. It also aids to the overall driving performance and fuel efficiency of the vehicle.
2. Major Cosmetic Changes
As of now, we don’t have any spy picture of the 2022 Maruti Swift. Though, the hatchback is likely to receive major design changes that will make it look sportier than the current model. Reports suggest that the new Maruti Swift 2022 will feature a larger radiator grille, newly-designed headlamps and front bumper. There might also be a new set of alloy wheels, bolder shoulder creases and new ORVMs. The taillamps could also be revised. 3. Upmarket Interior
The new Maruti Swift 2022 will have some extra features on offer. While there is no official information, the hatchback is likely to come with connected car technology, a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a head-up display. There might also be new seat upholstery along with several more goodies. Features such as coloured MID, cruise control, rear view camera, auto climate control, adjustable front and rear headrests, hill start assist, speed sensing door lock and electronic stability program will be carried forward from the current generation.
4. Strong Hybrid Tech
One of the major changes will be made under the hood. The 2022 Maruti Swift is reported to come with a stronger 48V hybrid setup replacing the existing 12V mild hybrid system. It will also improve fuel efficiency and meet the upcoming emission standards. The existing 89bhp, 1.2L K12 Dualjet petrol engine will continue to be on offer.
5. Expected Launch & Price
The fourth-generation Swift will make its official debut in July 2022, followed by its launch in the second half of 2022. With comprehensive cosmetic and feature upgrades and a stronger hybrid system, the hatchback is likely to witness a price hike between Rs 40,000 – Rs 50,000. At present, the hatchback model lineup comes in the price range of Rs 5.71 lakh – Rs 8.41 lakh (ex-showroom).
