Maruti Suzuki & Hyundai are preparing to launch the new Brezza and the Venue facelift respectively for the Indian market. A new media report claims that Maruti Suzuki will reveal the new Brezza compact SUV in late June 2022. Moreover, Hyundai will announce the prices of the Venue facelift before the end of June 2022.
2022 Maruti Brezza
The new Maruti Brezza will come with a significantly revised design and all-new interior along with a new engine-gearbox combination. It will be based on the existing Global C platform, which is claimed to be stable in Global NCAP crash test. The company will drop the “Vitara” prefix and name the new model ‘Maruti Suzuki Brezza’.
In terms of styling changes, the new Brezza will get a new front grille, new twin-pod projector LED headlamps, revised bumpers, new fog lamps, faux skid plate, new alloys and new tailgate design with new tail-lamps. The SUV will come with a more premium and feature-loaded cabin. It will be equipped with features like an electric sunroof, a 360 degree camera, a wireless phone charging, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, heads-up display, connected car tech, etc.
For safety and security, the new Brezza will come with 6 airbags, hill hold assist, tyre pressure monitoring system, ABS with EBD, reverse camera and others. It will be powered by a new 1.5L K15C petrol engine producing 103bhp and 137Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed torque convertor automatic and a 5-speed manual. The subcompact SUV is also likely to get CNG variant.
2022 Hyundai Venue facelift
The new Venue sub-4 meter SUV has already been spotted testing multiple times on the Indian market. Not just regular model, Hyundai is also testing the N-Line variant of the Venue compact SUV. In terms of styling changes, the 2022 Hyundai Venue facelift gets all-new front fascia that’s inspired by the next-gen Tucson. It gets a newly designed parametric grille and a new rectangular shaped headlamp unit, which will be placed lower on the bumper. The LED DRLs will look like a part of grille.
At the back, the new Venue facelift gets a new tailgate with L-shaped tail-lights with new LED inserts and new bumper with a faux skid plate. It will also get new alloys. Details about the new Venue interior is yet to be revealed. It is likely to get feature upgrades and more safety features as standard. The SUV is likely to get an upgraded touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity and a new BlueLink connected car tech.
It is likely to retain the existing engine set-up comprising of a 83bhp, 1.2L NA petrol, a 118bhp, 1.0L turbo-petrol & a 113bhp, 1.5L turbo-diesel. Transmission choices include a 5-speed MT with 1.2L petrol, a 6-speed MT as standard, an iMT and 7-speed DCT with 1.0L turbo-unit.
