2022 Maruti Brezza & Baleno CNG To Launch In May 2022 – Report

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the updated Ertiga and the XL6 MPVs on April 15 and April 21 respectively. The company is working on multiple new models, which will be launched in the next few days. MSIL is also testing the 2022 Maruti Brezza and the CNG powered Baleno hatchback.

It is reported that Maruti will announce the prices of the 2022 Maruti Brezza and the Baleno CNG in May 2022. The new Brezza will come comprehensive design changes and all-new feature-loaded cabin along with new powertrain. On the other hand, the new Baleno will receive the 1.2L dualjet petrol with a factory-fitted CNG kit.

The new Brezza will come with a new exterior design; however, it will retain the overall boxy shape. It will also receive sheet metal changes and all-new body panels. In terms of styling, the sub-4 meter SUV will have new front grille, more upright nose, new LED lighting system (LED headlamps with LED DRLs & new LED tail-lights), new tailgate and new alloys.

The subcompact SUV will come with several segment leading features such as a head-up display, a 360 degree camera, a wireless phone charger, six airbags and hill hold assist feature. The SUV will also get a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and connected car features.

The new Brezza will come with a new 1.5-litre K15C Dualjet petrol engine with a mild hybrid SHVS system. This engine is likely to produce close to 115bhp, which is good 10bhp more than the outgoing 1.5L engine. Instead of a 4-speed automatic, the new petrol engine will be paired to a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

Maruti Suzuki has already announced to introduce factory-fitted CNG kits in its NEXA line-up. The company will soon introduce the new Baleno CNG, which has already been spotted testing. It will be powered by the 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine with marginal drop in power and torque output. The CNG variant is expected to return an efficiency of 25km/kg. The CNG kit will be offered on multiple variants to target wider set of buyers.
