2022 Maruti Baleno Facelift Launch Likely By March 2022; More Details

In a bid to regain the lost market share, Maruti Suzuki is preparing a wide range of new cars and SUVs for the Indian market. The company will launch the new Brezza, new Alto, updated Baleno and Jimny off-roader in 2022. Adding to it, the company is preparing a new mid-sized SUV in collaboration with Toyota. The 2022 Maruti Baleno facelift will be launched in the first quarter of 2022, most probably in February-March.

The updated model will come with revised exterior; however, big changes will be made inside the cabin. Clear spy images of the new Baleno have already hit the web world.

The spy images reveal that the 2022 Maruti Baleno will come with a completely revised front and rear end design. It comes with a larger grille and a new L-shaped wrap-around design for headlamps with new LED daytime running lamp. The vehicle gets newly styled front bumper that has a wider air-dam and new fog lamp housing. At the back, the updated Baleno will have newly designed L-shaped tail-lights, new bumper and new tailgate. It will come with updated alloy wheels.

Big changes will be made to the interiors of the 2022 Maruti Baleno. It will come with a larger, 9.0-inch free-standing touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity system. The infotainment system will come with an Sim-based connectivity suite that offers features like geofencing, rel-time tracking, find your car and others. The system is also expected to get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The leaked images reveal that the AC vents are now sleeker and horizontally positioned. It gets all-new dashboard with a new brushed aluminium inserts. It is expected that the Baleno facelift will have better quality plastic, a new steering wheel and new climate controls button. The hatchback could also get cruise control, automatic headlamps and wipers.

The 2022 Maruti Baleno is most likely to retain the 1.2L naturally-aspirated petrol engine and 1.2L dual-jet petrol with SHVS mild hybrid system. While the former is good for 83bhp and 110Nm, the latter offers 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.
