2022 Mahindra Scorpio N To Come In 5 Trims, 36 Variants – Petrol, Diesel Specs

Mahindra is all set to launch the new-gen Scorpio N in the country on June 27, 2022. The company will also launch the new Scorpio Classic, which is the slightly upgraded version of the outgoing model. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will come with significant design changes and all-new interior along with new petrol, diesel engine options.

The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N will come with 5 trims – Z2, Z4, Z6, Z8 and Z8L – and in total of 36 variants. The diesel version will come in 23 variants, while the petrol version will be offered in 13 variants. The new Mahindra Scorpio Classic will be offered in 2 trims – S3+ and S11 – in 7 and 9 seat options.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio N Petrol Variants & Specs

2022 Mahindra Scorpio’s petrol variants comprising of 7 manual and 6 automatic. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 202bhp of power and 370Nm of torque with manual & 380Nm with automatic gearbox. The SUV will be offered in 6-seat and 7-seat layout. The petrol version will come in rear-wheel drive system.

In terms of proportions, the new Scorpio is 4,662mm in length, 1,917mm in width and has a wheelbase of 2,780mm. It will be offered with two wheel sizes – 17-inch with 1849mm height and 18-inch with 1857mm height. The petrol version has a gross weight of 2,510kgs.

The new-gen Scorpio diesel will come in 23 variants including 13 manual and 10 automatic options. The base variant will be powered by a 130bhp, 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. The top-spec model will come in 3 drive modes – Zip, Zap and Zoom. The 2.2L diesel engine in Zip mode will produce 138bhp and 175bhp in Zap and Zoom mode.

While the petrol will come in 2WD drivetrain, the Scorpio N diesel will be available in both 2WD and 4WD options. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N 4WD trim comes with a part-time 4WD system, which is different from the permanent unit offered in the XUV700. The Scorpio’s 4WD system is called ‘4Xplorer’. It comes with 4-high and 4-low gear ratios on its transfer case. The new Mahindra Scorpio-N’s 4Xplore offers 4 modes – Rough Road, Snow, Mud and Water. To improve off-roading capabilities, Mahindra has added manual locking rear differential.

The new Scorpio N is around 206mm longer, 97mm wider and 125mm shorter than the current model. In fact, the wheelbase is increased by 70mm. It has slightly bigger dimensions when compared with the Tata Safari. It is 1mm longer, 23mm wider and 84mm taller than the Safari. In fact, the SUV has 9mm longer wheelbase.
