2022 Mahindra Scorpio – 6/7-Seat Options, Captain Seats Revealed

The much-awaited new-generation Mahindra Scorpio is ready to hit roads in the second half of this year (possibly around 2022 Diwali season). Testing of the SUV’s new model is underway for a very long time. The latest spy images shows the captain seats for the middle row with individual armrests and front-facing third row seats. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be offered in 6 and 7-seats configurations. At present, it’s available in multiple seating layouts – 7-seats with captain seats, 7-seats with side facing seats, 8-seats front facing and 9-seats with side facing. Mahindra will equip the new Scorpio with lots of advanced goodies. The SUV will have an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is likely to come with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity and Alexa support. Features such as a 360 degree camera, dual-zone climate control, connected car tech, twin-pod analogue instrument cluster, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a single-pane sunroof, cruise control, electronic stability control and rear disc brakes will also be on-board.

2022 Mahindra Scorpio Seats

The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will sit on a new GEN-3 platform that will make it lighter and safer than before. The SUV will witness significant design changes as well. Talking about engines, the new-generation model will come with the more powerful 2.0L mStallion turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engines making 130bhp (for lower variants)/160 (for higher trims) and 155bhp respectively. Both manual and automatic gearboxes will be on offer.

Recently, Mahindra & Mahindra released first teaser of its upcoming three electric SUV concepts that will make world debut in July 2022. All three EVs have been designed by Mahindra Advance Design Europe (MADE) division in the UK. Based on a new, bespoke ‘Born Electric’ EV platform, the upcoming Mahindra EVs are expected to the new-generation XUV500, electric version of the XUV700 and an SUV Coupe (XUV900).
