Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has launched the 2022 Gold Wing Tour in the Indian market as a CBU model. Available in a single Gunmetal Black Metallic (with blacked-out engine), the new Gold Wing Tour is priced at Rs 39.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Gurgaon Haryana).
Honda has started accepting the bookings for 2022 Gold Wing Tour DCT with airbag option at its exclusive BigWing Topline dealerships in Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Indore, Kochi, Hyderbad and Chennai. The motorcycle gets double wishbone front suspension for reduce sliding friction. There is an extended electric screen that offers wind protection, and the step-less screen angle and height adjustment can be operated from the left side of the handlebar.
It comes with a separated seat for rider and pillion with relaxed pillion back rest angle. The seat cover comes in a new suede/synthetic leather. The 2022 Gold Wing Tour DCT comes with full LED lighting including dual LED fog lights that used polished optical lenses on both sides to create a jewel-eye low beam light signature. The bike gets auto-cancelling indicators where system compares front and rear wheel speed difference to calculate when to cancel the indication relative to the riding situation.
The motorcycle also has cruise control system, and the speed that is set with the Cruise Control switch is shown in the bottom left side of the speedometer. It has a 7-inch full-color TFT liquid crystal display that provides all the information including audio & navigation system, managing riding modes or adjusting suspension settings. The screen can be lit up to 8 brightness levels with automatic adjustment setting with added convenience of tyre pressure displayed as a numerical figure in the bottom left section.
The smart key activates all systems and incorporates emergency key. The ignition and handlebar lock can be tuned on/off while just carrying the smart key. The 2022 model comes with 21-litres capacity fuel tank. The 2022 Gold Wing Tour also gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, Bluetooth connectivity is available with two USB Type-C ports.
2022 Gold Wing Tour DCT – Engine Specs
Powering the new Gold Wing is a 1833cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke 24-valve SOHC flat-6 engine that produces 93kW (124bhp) at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 170Nm at 4,500rpm. The Throttle By Wire engine management adds 4 ride modes – Tour, Sport, Econ & Rain linked to suspension damping & the dual combined brake system. The bike gets Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) that maintains rear wheel traction.
Furthermore, at 2.4 kg lighter than a standard system, Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) combines the power of generator and starter motor into one. Idling Stop system which operates with the help of ISG and the combination of DCT & TBW control lend that ultra-quiet start-up of the engine. The motorcycle also gets Hill Start Assist.
The motorcycle gets Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) that uses two clutches – one for start up and 1st, 3rd, 5th & 7th and other for 2nd, 4th and 6th, with the main shaft for each clutch located inside the other. It also features a convenient creep forward and back function.
