2022 Honda CBR650R Priced at Rs 9.35 Lakh; Gets Minor Updates

Honda Motorcycle India today introduced the updated CBR650R at Rs 9.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Compared to the old model, the new one is around Rs 5,000 more expensive. The 2022 Honda CBR650R receives minor cosmetic updates, while its features and engine mechanism remain unchanged. The updated model comes in two colour schemes – Matte Gunpowder Black Metallic and Grand Prix Red. While the former has contrast Orange highlights, the latter one features new sporty graphics.

As mentioned above, no other changes have been made to the bike. The 2022 Honda CBR650R continues to come with the 648.72cc, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 85.8bhp and 57.5Nm. It gets a 6-speed gearbox with an assist and a slipper clutch. The bike has the same Showa upside down forks and monoshock rear suspension units. The braking power comes from the dual radially-mounted four piston brake calipers with floating dual discs upfront and a single disc at the rear.

Talking about features, the new CBR650R offers the Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system with switchable functionality and Emergency Stop Signal (ESS). The list of features also includes full LED lighting, a USB charging socket under the seat, an LCD instrument cluster, a dual-channel ABS (anti-lock braking system) and traction control. The bike has a ground clearance of 132mm and carries a kerb weight of 211kg. It offers a seat height of 635mm and a fuel tank capacity of 15.4-litres.

In other updates, the Japanese two-wheeler maker is planning to launch a new electric scooter sometime in 2023. The model’s feasibility test has already been commenced in the country. While there is no information on the upcoming Honda electric scooter, it’s rumoured to be the Honda PCX that broke cover at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo. In fact, the company has its patent registered in India in May 2021.
