Ather Energy today revealed prices and details of the Gen 3 450X electric scooter. The new 2022 Ather 450X model lineup comes in two variants – Gen 3 450X and 450 Plus – priced at Rs 1.39 lakh and Rs 1.17 lakh respectively. One must note that the aforementioned prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. Compared to the previous model, the new one is around Rs 1,000 more expensive.
The company has been expanding its retail sales network and manufacturing operations in the country. At present, it has 41 retail stores across 36 cities and it plans to expand to 150 showrooms in 100 cities by 2023.

Major update comes in the form of the bigger battery pack that results into more power and longer range. It’s also claimed to have better thermal management system. The new Gen 3 Ather 450X and 450 Plus feature a larger 3.7kWh battery pack that’s claimed to deliver a range of up to 146km (TrueRange of 105km) and 108km respectively.
While the 450X offers a maximum output of 6.2kW (8.7bhp) in Wrap mode, the 450 Plus returns the same 5.4kW. The continuous and torque output of both variants remain unchanged – i.e. 3.3kW and 26Nm (450X) and 22Nm (450 Plus).
With bigger battery pack, the new 2022 Ather 450X gets slightly heavier to 108kg. Both models have been assembled with the wider 100/80-12 rear tyres. The company says that the new, wider tyres ensure better grille in all weather conditions along with a shorter braking distance.
The scooter also gets tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) as an accessory. Ather has upgraded the dashboard RAM to 2GB from 1GB.
Some of its key updates include a new sidestep, single-cast aluminium and new rear view mirror with 2X better visibility. It continues to come with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, boot space of 22-litres, front and rear disc brakes with regeneration technology, a belt drive system and a telescopic fork.
