Volkswagen had introduced the 2021 VW T-ROC SUV in the country in March 2021. The SUV is available at a price tag of Rs 21.35 lakh (ex-showroom). Launched as a CBU (Completely Built-Up Unit), the new VW T-ROC is positioned against the premium SUVs including the Hyundai Tucson and the higher-variants of the Hyundai Creta and the Tata Safari.
Despite COVID-19 restrictions in certain states, Volkswagen has started deliveries of the updated T-ROC SUV. Customers can also book the new VW T-ROC by paying an initial amount of Rs 50,000 at any VW dealership or online.
The 2021 Volkswagen T-ROC is powered by the same 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged TSI petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 148bhp and a peak torque of 250Nm. This engine comes with an idle auto start/stop system with Active Cylinder Technology (ACT). The new ACT technology improves the overall fuel efficiency of the SUV. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox. It accelerates to 100kmph from standstill in 8.4 seconds before hitting a top speed of 205kmph.
The 2021 Volkswagen T-ROC is available in 5 colour options – Curcuma Yellow, Indium Grey, Ravenna Blue, Energetic Orange and Pure White. All shades come with the standard black roof. It measures 4,229mm in length and sits on a 2,595mm long wheels. For safety and security, the SUV gets 6 airbags, traction control, MSR (Motor Slip Regulation), ABS, TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System) and electronic differential lock and ESP (Electronic Stability Programme).
The new VW T-ROC features include LED headlamps with LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), LED tail-lamps, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Vienna leather seats, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control and a digital instrument console. The SUV rides on new 17-inch alloy wheels.
