2021 Toyota Land Cruiser Gains Fortuner’s 2.8L Diesel Engine

Japanese automaker, Toyota has revealed the 2021 Land Cruiser SUV for the European markets. The 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser comes equipped with a more powerful 2.8-litre diesel engine, new multimedia system and new safety and the Toyota Safety Sense suite active safety technologies. It also gets the range of special Black Pack featuring bespoke styling cues.

The 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser is powered by a new 2.8-litre, 4-cylinder DOHC, 16-valve, common rail diesel engine. This engine has been tuned for higher power output. It is now capable of producing 200bhp of power at 3,000-3,400rpm and 500Nm of torque at 1,600-2,800rpm, which is 23bhp and 50Nm higher than the previous version.

Power is transmitted to the wheels via a 6-speed automatic gearbox. It is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in just 9.9 seconds before hitting a top speed of 175kmph. The new model is 3.0 seconds over its predecessor, while the average fuel consumption has been lowered by 0.3 l/100km to 7.4 l/100km.

The SUV is equipped with an upgraded multimedia system, which is claimed to offer faster software and screen response. The new system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The infotainment unit also supports a one-box search facility, 3 years map care connected services and over-the-air map updates. 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser Interior

In terms of safety and security, the 2021 Toyota Land Cruiser gets Pre-Collision System with both night time pedestrian and daytime cyclist detection, and Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control. The company has also introduced a special Black Pack to the Land Cruiser model range.

The Black Pack offers aero parts for front and rear bumpers, a full dark chrome front grille and rear garnish. Adding to it, this pack also includes black fog lamp bezels, door mirrors, door belt mouldings and alloy wheels, and clear rear lamp clusters.
