The Japanese carmaker recently revealed the 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift for the Thai market. While the SUV’s regular model received mild updates, the new Fortuner Legender has witnessed major design and feature changes. Here’re top 5 differences between these two models.

1. Prices

In Thailand, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner has been made available at a starting price of 1,319,000 Baht (which is around Rs 31.60 lakh). The Fortuner Legender, on the other hand, costs 1,577,000 Baht (approx. Rs 37.68 lakh). The latter one has sportier styling, more features and a more powerful engine.

2. More Powerful Engine

The SUV’s regular model comes with a 2.4L, 4-cylinder diesel engine paired to a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox. The oil burner is good enough for 148bhp at 3,400rpm and 400Nm between 1600rpm – 2000rpm. The new Toyota Fortuner Legender is offered with a more powerful 2.8L turbo diesel engine that’s tuned for generating power worth 201bhp at 3400rpm and 500Nm of torque at 1400rpm – 2600rpm. This makes it around 25bhp more powerful and 50Nm torqueier than its old version. The RWD (rear-wheel-drive) and 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system are available on both models.

3. Extra Features

Compared to the updated standard model, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner Legender has more features to offer. The latter is equipped with a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system (instead of an 8.0-inch unit), a 360 degree camera, wireless charging, JBL audio system, dual-tone seats, ambient illumination, rear UBS port and hands-free powered tailgate. Safety features such as lane departure alert, automatic pre-collision braking and radar based cruise control are exclusively offered on the sportier variant.
