2021 Toyota Fortuner, Legender Reach Dealerships

Prices of the 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift and Legender were announced in the first week of January. Now, the SUV’s new model has started arriving at dealerships. It’s the first major update for the first-generation Fortuner, which was launched back in 2016. The updated lineup includes 7 variants including 2 petrol, 4 diesel and a new Legender.

The 2.7L 4X2 manual and automatic petrol variants are priced at Rs 29.98 lakh and Rs 31.57 lakh respectively. The diesel Fortuner costs between Rs 32.48 lakh – Rs 37.43 lakh, the sportier Legender is available at Rs 37.58 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom.

On the exterior, the 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift gets newly-designed LED headlamps with LED DRLs, revised front bumper, a larger mesh-pattern grille, new set of alloys and slimmer LED taillamps. Inside, the biggest upgrade comes in the form of a larger, 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. The SUV also receives connected car tech along with slightly updated instrument cluster, ventilated driver and co-driver’s seats, 8-way power adjustable and ventilated driver and co-driver’s seats, 11-speaker JBL audio system and front parking sensors. The facelifted Toyota Fortuner gets two interior themes – All-Black and Chamois.

2021 Toyota Fortuner waiting period

The new Toyota Fortuner Legender variant features a differently designed split grille, front bumper, LED turn indicators, LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, newly-designed alloys, hands free tailgate opening function and gloss finish instead of chrome embellishments. It gets an exclusive Pearl White paint scheme with contrast Black Roof and Maroon and Black interior theme.

Engine setup includes the same 2.7L petrol and a more powerful 2.8L diesel unit. While the former makes a top power of 166bhp with 245Nm of torque, the latter is good enough for 204bhp and 420Nm (MT)/500Nm (AT). The new Fortuner petrol and Legender variants can be had with 2WD (two-wheel-drive) system and the diesel comes with both 2WD and 4WD systems.
