Japanese automaker, Toyota has officially unveiled the new Fortuner facelift for the Australian and Thai markets. The facelift version of the Fortuner facelift SUV will be launched in Australia in August 2021.

The upcoming Fortuner facelift is powered by a 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel engine, which is tuned to offer higher power and torque. This engine is capable of producing 201bhp of power and 500Nm of torque. In the current form, the 2.8L turbo-diesel engine produces 174bhp and 450Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.
The India-spec Fortuner will also receive the BSVI compliant 2.7L turbocharged petrol engine that produces 164bhp of power at 5,200rpm and 245Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Transmission choices include a 5-speed MT and a 6-speed AT. Also See – 2021 Toyota Fortuner Vs Fortuner Legender
The 2021 Toyota Fortuner receives bolder front design, featuring new prominent grille inspired by the global Toyota SUVs. The company has also introduced a new top-spec Legender variant, which features slimmer upper grille with Toyota logo placed in the centre and lower air-dam.
The new Toyota Fortuner facelift also gets prominent lower air-dam, blackened treatment on top-spec model, revised headlamp and fog lamp design and new silver skid plate. The SUV gets newly styled 18-inch alloy wheels.
The fog lights in the Legender variant also come with LED technology with black shape housing. It also gets Lexus-like sequential turn signal on the lower side of the bumper. The Fortuner Legender also features newly designed 20-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.
The side profile of the 2021 Toyota Fortuner gets still footsteps, chromed treatment on the side window, and blackened treatment on ORVMs, pillars and roof. At the back, the new Fortuner Legender comes with new tail-lamps with LED Bar and new bumper, roof-integrated spoiler and shark fin antenna.
The upcoming Toyota Fortuner facelift comes fitted with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The top-spec Fortuner Legender variant gets a larger 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity.
The 2021 Toyota Fortuner comes equipped with high-end features like 8-way electrically adjustable driver and co-driver’s seats, wireless smartphone charging, LED ambient lighting, a 9-speed JBL audio system and a 360 degree camera.
The new Toyota Fortuner facelift could get new Toyota Safety Sense including collision and automatic brakes pre-collision system, lane departure warning system with automatic steering wheel delay, lane keeping assist and variable automatic speed control system, and dynamic radar cruise control.
