2021 Toyota Fortuner Coming In January – 4 Key Changes

Toyota Kirloskar Motor recently introduced the updated Innova Crysta within the price range of Rs 16.26 lakh – Rs 24.33 lakh (ex-showroom). Now, the Japanese carmaker is gearing up to launch the Toyota Fortuner facelift early next year (possibly in second or third week of January, 2021). Unofficial bookings have already been commenced at select dealerships for an initial sum of Rs 50,000. Here’re top 5 changes that are expected to be made to the SUV’s new model.

1. Updated Front

Most of the cosmetic changes will be made at the front end. The 2021 Toyota Fortuner facelift will feature anew grille, LED headlamps with LED DRLs (daytime running lights), revised fog lamps and new silver skid plate. The SUV will also receive newly-designed alloy wheels and LED taillamps.

2. More Powerful Diesel Engine

The updated Fortuner is likely to retain the 2.7L petrol engine producing power worth 166PS with 245Nm. In Thailand, the SUV gets an upgraded 2.8L turbocharged diesel engine making 204PS and 500Nm. Both motors can be had with a 6-speed automatic gearbox. While the petrol unit also comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox, the oil burner is matched with a 6-speed manual transmission. While the 4WD system will be reserved for the diesel variants, the 2WD will be standard across the model lineup.

3. More Features

The Thai-spec model has all-black interior theme with a larger touchscreen infotainment system and a new instrument cluster. The Fortuner Legender variant comes with some additional features including a powered tailgate with the sweep-to-open feature, a 360 degree parking camera and wireless charging. 4. To Be Priced Premium

Compared to the current model that costs between Rs 28.66 lakh – Rs 34.43 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated Fortuner will be priced slightly more premium.
