2021 Tata Safari Connected Car Features List Leaked

Tata Motors is all set to launch the new Safari SUV in the Indian market. The new model is basically the 6/7-seater version of the Harrier SUV. It will rival the MG Hector Plus and the next-gen Mahindra XUV500. The new 2021 Tata Safari SUV will come equipped with connected car technology. Ahead of the launch, the SUV’s connected car features and telematics have been leaked online.

The report claims that the 2021 Tata Safari connected car features are divided into 5 categories – Safety & Security, Remote Commands, Alerts & Notification, Over the Air updates and Health check. The iRA, ConnectNext and What3Words can be downloaded from the App store or the play store free, and will have a validity period of 1 year.

New Tata Safari 2021 Features

The connected car features include Remote Lock/Unlock, Remote Lights On/Off, Unauthorised car access alert, Remote immobilisation when car is stolen, alerts on critical car parameters, valet mode, view trip details, etc. It also gives details about nearest TML (Tata Motors Limited) service station/Roadside assistance. Other connected car features on offer are Geo fencing, SOS SMS to emergency contact in case of accident, view car health dashboard, share location and get tracked live, custom message, over the air software updates, driver score on driving and efficiency, remote horn, navigation, Android Auto/Apple Carplay for smartphone integration with weather updates, find my car, speed alerts, time fencing alert, idle alert, panic notification and What 3 Words.

The Tata Safari 2021 will be offered in 4 variants – XE, XM, XT and XZ. It will be powered by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine that is capable of producing 170bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission. In terms of proportions, the new Safari is 63mm longer, 72mm wider and 80mm taller than the Harrier. The SUV will have a ground clearance of 200mm.
