2021 Suzuki Hayabusa has finally been launched in the Indian market. Priced at Rs 16.4 lakh (ex-showroom), the supersport tourer is claimed to be the “quickest Hayabusa ever”. The model comes with improved design and aerodynamics, advanced technologies and a more efficient engine. It’s built on the brand’s twin-spar aluminum frame architecture and weights 2kgs lesser than its predecessor. At the heart of the 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa is a 1340cc, 4-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine featuring updated fuel injection technology with ride-by-wire throttle bodies. The motor has been calibrated to provide stronger torque delivery. Its power and torque outputs stand at 190bhp and 150Nm respectively. The supersport tourer has a 6-speed gearbox with two-way quick shifter and autobilpper. The new Hayabusa has optimized inverted telescopic upfront and link type, single shock rear suspension unit.
Features such as larger and newly-designed brake rotors, a new, lightweight symmetrical twin silencer exhaust system and 120/70ZR17M/C front and 190/50ZRM/C rear tubeless tyres enhance its overall performance. The 2021 Suzuki Hayabusa measures 2180mm in length, 735mm in width and 1165mm in height with a wheelbase of 1480mm. The bike offers a ground clearance of 125mm and a seat height of 800mm.
As mentioned above, the new Suzuki Hayabusa 2021 comes with several advanced tech including 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) and Suzuki Drive Mode Selector Alpha (SDMS-a). The latter one consists of Power Mode Selector, Engine Brake Control System, Motion Track Traction Control System, Anti-Lift Control System and Bi-Directional Quick Shift System.
Visually, the new Suzuki Hayabusa 2021 appears shaper and more angular. While the original silhouette remains intact, it gets full LED headlamp, LED taillamps and LED turn indicators. The supersport tourer comes equipped with a TFT LCD screen placed between the analogue tachometer and speedometer.
