2021 Nissan Kicks Breaks Cover; Gets ADAS, Bigger Screen

The 2021 Nissan Kicks has finally been introduced in the US market. The first generation model was introduced in the USA in 2017 as the replacement for the Juke. The updated model received design changes, and revised interior with more features along with mechanical upgrades.

The 2021 Nissan Kicks gets four-wheel disc brakes as standard along with Nissan Safety Shield 260 advance driver-assist systems (ADAS). The ADAS system includes Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) with Pedestrian Detection. Lane Departure Warning, Blind-Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, High Beam Assist and Rear Automatic Braking.

Powering the 2021 Nissan Kicks is a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder engine with Continuous Variable Valve Timing Control System. Paired to a CVT gearbox, this engine produces 120bhp of power and 154Nm of torque. The SUV gets TCS (Traction Control System), Vehicle Dynamic Control, HSA (Hill Start Assist), and ABS as standard.

Kicks offers a standard Traction Control System, Vehicle Dynamic Control and Hill Start Assist, front disc/rear drum Anti-lock Braking System (S grade) and electric power steering. Kicks SV and SR grades add new rear disc brakes. The SUV also gets 10 airbags, Intelligent driver alertness and rear door alert.

Higher variants also get Intelligent Cruise Control and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. Adding to it, the SUV gets integrated dynamic control module that has Active Engine Brake, Intelligent Trace Control and Intelligent Ride Control. The new model rides on 17-inch aluminium-alloy wheels wrapped with 205/55R17 all-season tires.

In terms of styling, the new Kicks gets a new ‘Double V-Motion’ front grille, new set of headlamps and re-styled bumper with re-styled fog lamp housing. The SUV sport blacked-out C-pillar, split tail-lamps and an LED bar across the trunk lid.

The 2021 Nissan Kicks comes equipped with a bigger 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. In terms of features, the SUV gets automatic AC, a 360 degree camera, 7-inch digital instrument console, multi-functional leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated ORVMs, and six-way adjustable driver’s seat. The range-topping model also gets an optional package, which offers features like heated front seats and steering wheel, Nissan T-Connect connected car technologies and Bose sound system.
