The updated 2021 MG ZS electric SUV has been launched in the Indian market. The new model is available in two variants – Excite and Exclusive – priced at Rs 21 lakh and Rs 23.18 lakh respectively. 2021 MG ZS Electric Top Changes
The 2021 MG ZS Electric SUV comes equipped with an updated iSmart system, which we have already seen on the 2021 Hector SUV. This system is compatible with Hinglish voice commands. This tech enables the new ZS EV to respond to over 35 Hinglish voice commands used to operate various functions such as opening the sunroof, turning on the radio and temperature controls.
The new model comes with newly styled 17-inch wheels shod with 215/55 R17 tyres. The ground clearance of the MG ZS EV has been increased by 16mm to 177mm. This should improve the overall ride quality of the electric SUV.
2021 MG ZS Electric Engine Specifications
The 2021 MG ZS Electric SUV is equipped with a 44.5 kWh battery that offers the same 143bhp of power and 353Nm of torque. This model features a new hi-tech battery, which is claimed to offer an impressive range of 419kms. The SUV’s range has been increased significantly, as the previous model had 340km range. It accelerates to 100kmph from zero in just 8.5 seconds.
The MG ZS EV can be charged with a 50kW DC fast charger. The SUV’s battery can be charged up to 80 percent in 50 minutes. Using a standard AC charger, it takes 6 to 8 hours for a full charge. Read – MG ZS Petrol Interior Revealed Ahead of Launch
In terms of styling, the 2021 MG ZS Electric comes equipped with projector headlamps with LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), LED tail-lamps, newly styled 17-inch alloy wheels, and an integrated rear spoiler. Inside the cabin, the new MG ZS EV gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets an updated iSmart connected car tech.
Other features include 3-level Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS), multiple drive modes, electronic parking brake, etc. Six airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, ESC (Electronic Stability Control), hill start assist, hill descent control, electric parking brake, TPMS, rear camera and others are offered as standard.
