Japanese automaker, Suzuki has recently launched the Swift facelift in the UK. The updated model comes with subtle upgrades and hybrid engine option. A new report claims that the 2021 Maruti Swift facelift will be launched in the Indian market by the end of this year.
The 2021 Maruti Swift facelift will receive changes in-line with the Japanese-spec model, which was introduced earlier this year. Majority of the changes are made to the front profile, which has new grille with honeycomb-mesh pattern and chrome trim, revised bumper and slightly reshaped LED headlamps. The hatchback is also expected to receive new dual-tone alloys.
The cabin is likely to receive minimum changes in the form of slightly revised dashboard design and new colour scheme. It is expected to receive new seat upholstery and headliners. The global-spec model also gets a 360 degree camera and paddleshifters; however, these features won’t be offered with the India-spec model. It will continue to offer the 7-inch Smart Studio touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity.
The India-spec Swift facelift will receive a new 1.2-litre Dualjet petrol engine that also powers the Dzire facelift. This engine is capable of producing 91PS of power and 118Nm of torque. Compared to the existing engine, the new Dualjet unit offers more power and torque. Both manual and AMT versions will be on offer. It is expected to deliver over 23kmpl and 24kmpl of mileage with manual and AMT transmissions respectively. The regular model will continue to feature the 1.2L K-Series engine producing 82bhp and 114Nm of torque. Both manual and AMT versions will be on offer.
The Maruti Swift hatchback is currently available in the price bracket of Rs 5.19 lakh – Rs 8.02 lakh (ex-showroom). The updated model will come with cosmetic updates and new Dualjet engine, which is likely to increase its prices. It is expected to cost around Rs 5.5 lakh – Rs 8.5 lakh.
