2021 Maruti Celerio Rear Looks Sportier In A New Rendering

A couple of days back, we have seen the 2021 Maruti Celerio rendering revealing its possible front design based on the leaked patent images. Now, a latest digital rendering shows its revised rear section. Compared to the current generation, the rendered model features more angular stance instead of upright ones. The C-shaped taillamps, rear facet integrated spoiler and silver finish chin enhance its modern look. The taillamps are likely to get LED elements. The newly-designed bumper features more pronounced creases, integrated reflectors and license plate.  It gets rear wiper and defogger.

The front fascia of the new-generation Celerio will receive significant updates including more squarish stance, new grille with a thick chrome bar, triangular shaped headlamps, new bumper and redesigned fog lamps with black surroundings. Some of its other key updates might include a slightly swooping roofline and the conventional lift type door handles.

Visually, the 2021 Maruti Celerio will appear bigger than the current generation. However, its official dimension figures are yet to be revealed. Interior might also witness comprehensive feature upgrades such as a touchscreen SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with latest smartphone connectivity, keyless entry & go, steering-mounted audio control, power-adjustable and foldable ORVMs, etc. Read: Maruti Suzuki Jimny 5 Door: Top 4 Relevant Changes Expected

If reports are to be believed, the new Maruti Celerio 2021 will be designed on the Suzuki’s Heartect platform. It will make the hatchback lighter, safer and more rigid than the outgoing model. Under the hood, the new-generation Celerio is likely to feature the existing 1.0L petrol and the WagonR’s 1.2L petrol engines. While the former delivers a peak power of 67bhp and 90Nm of torque, the latter one is good enough for 83bhp and 113Nm. The hatchback can be had with either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox.

With heavily updated exterior and interior, the 2021 Maruti Celerio is likely to witness a minor price hike. At present, the hatchback is available in the price range of Rs 4.65 lakh (for the base model) – Rs 5.90 lakh (for the top-end trim).
