Kia has launched the new 2021 Sonet and the Seltos in the Indian market. The new models are equipped with new Kia badge, new trim levels and new features. The 2021 Kia Sonet petrol range starts at Rs 6.79 lakh, while the diesel Sonet costs Rs 8.35 lakh for the base model.

The 2021 Kia Sonet receives two new variants – HTX petrol automatic and HTX diesel automatic. The company has discontinued the HTK+ Turbo Petrol DCT and HTK+ Diesel Automatic. The HTX petrol variant is now available with a 7-speed DCT, while the HTX diesel gets a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The 2021 Kia Sonet HTK+ trim now available with new features – Keyless entry and remote engine on/off. The iMT versions are offered with an electric sunroof, and keyless entry is added to the 1.2-litre petrol. The HTX trim is offered with features like electronic stability control (ESC), hill start assist and brake assist. It rides on new 16-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
The HTX automatic variants get paddle shifters and three traction modes – Sand, Mud and Wet, along with new drive modes – Normal, Eco and Sport. These features were earlier reserved for the top-spec GTX+ trim. The new HTX+ trim has all the features that are available in the HTX trim. The top-end variant also gets the new AI based voice command system that can be used by saying “Hello Kia”. This feature is also available on the GTX+ trim.
The 2021 Kia Sonet is HTX+ trim is equipped with high-end features like an electric sunroof, leatherette upholstery, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, cruise control, an air purifier, a premium Bose audio system, etc. The vehicle gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The SUV also gets a UVO connected car tech.
The 2021 Kia Sonet is available with 3 engine options – a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel and a 1.2-litre NA petrol. The 1.0L engine produces 118bhp and 175Nm of torque, while the 1.2L NA engine produces 83bhp and 115Nm of torque. The diesel engine churns out 99bhp and 240Nm of torque with manual gearbox. The automatic diesel offers 113bhp and 250Nm of torque.
