2021 Kia Carnival To Be Unveiled Between July-September 2020

The new generation 2021 Kia Carnival MPV is scheduled to make global debut in the 3rd quarter of 2020, between July and September. The new model will go on sale in the select international markets in early 2021.

Kia Motors had launched the current generation Carnival MPV in India at the 2020 Auto Expo in February. It is expected that the new model won’t come to India in the near future. This new model is likely to be launched in India in 2022. The new model will grow in size and will be more premium and feature loaded than the outgoing model.

New-gen Kia Carnival Spied

Kia Motors has recently released the teaser image of the next-generation Carnival, which is also known as the Sedona in select markets. The teaser confirms that the new 2021 Kia Carnival features more SUV-like elements with a typical MPV body. Upfront is a signature and more aggressive Tiger Nose grille with silver and chrome surround. In fact, the size of the grille has been increased for bolder profile. The grille merges with the new LED headlamps, which seems similar to the one available in the Kia Seltos. It has newly styled bumper and relatively shorter front hood and bulky fenders. The SUV traits can be seen all around the front fascia of the 2021 Kia Carnival. The company calls the new model GUV – Grand Utility Vehicle. The boxy design is clearly visible. It features blackened pillars and slightly sloping roof. There is a strong crease that runs across the length of the new Carnival.

Kia Carnival Hi-Limousine Price

The upcoming new Carnival MPV is rumoured to be bigger than the current car. It is reportedly 40mm longer and 10mm wider than the outgoing Carnival. In fact, the wheelbase will be increased by 30mm to 3,090mm. If media reports are to be believed, the 2021 Kia Carnival will also receive a new top-spec variant with 4-seats. The 4-seater version will target the corporate world, while the entry-level model will be 11-seater to target fleet operators.

The 2021 Kia Carnival will be based on the new generation N3 platform, which debuted in the new Sonata sedan. In fact, the new Kia Sorento and the upcoming Hyundai Starex will be based on the same platform. The new model is likely to receive the upgraded version of the existing 200bhp, 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The petrol version could receive a new 208bhp, 2.5L turbocharged petrol engine.
