Jeep India is all set to give the first mid-life update to its popular Compass SUV early next year. Currently, the model is in its testing phase and has been spotted multiple times. Recently, the good folks at Autocar got their hands on the first spy pictures of its interior revealing some interesting details. While the cabin was partially camouflaged, you can notice the updated centre console featuring FCA’s all-new UConnect5 infotainment system.
Ditching the existing 8.4-inch screen, the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift is likely to receive a larger 10.1-inch infotainment display with gloss black control switches placed below it. The unit will support Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa. The climate control buttons will also be repositioned.
The facelifted model will get an all-new steering wheel that might also be offered on the upcoming Jeep 7-seater SUV. The higher trims might be exclusively offered with features such as full LED lighting, a 360 degree camera, a full-digital instrument cluster and wireless charging.
Noticeable changes will also be made to its exterior. The 2021 Jeep Compass might carry a 7-slate grille with matte black finish, newly-designed projector headlamps, updated bumper and new Cherokee-inspired LED taillamps.
Globally, the facelifted Compass will be offered with a new 1.3L turbo petrol engine and two gearbox options. With a 6-speed manual and a new 6-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, the motor pushes out a peak power of 130bhp and 150bhp respectively. In India, the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift will continue to come with the BS6-compliant 1.4L turbo petrol and 2.0L diesel engine options. While the gasoline motor is good enough for 160bhp and 260Nm, the oil burner produces 173bhp and 350Nm. Transmissions on offer are 6-speed manual and a 7-speed automatic. The SUV offers three driving modes along with Jeep’s terrain response system.
