2021 Jeep Compass Facelift Spotted In India For the First Time

The American SUV maker has planned 3 new Jeep SUVs for the Indian market. While the company is ready to bring in the Compass facelift by the end of this year, it will also foray into the subcompact SUV and premium 7-seater SUV space in coming year. The 2021 Jeep Compass facelift was recently revealed via official pictures for the European market. The SUV receives Jeep’s new Uconnect 5 Services multimedia center, a new turbo-petrol engine and a dual-clutch gearbox along with several other updates.

The India-spec Compass facelift will be different than the European model. The former will witness subtle cosmetic upgrades and a couple of new features. For the first time, the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift has been caught on camera during its test rounds in the country. The test mule was heavily camouflaged covering most of its design details. Though, you can notice the five-spoke alloy wheels and taillamps.

The updated model is likely to feature new seven-slate grille with a matte black finish, revised bumper and sleeker projector headlamps. The SUV might also get a set of newly-designed alloy wheels along with new colour schemes. The talking point of the new Compass will be its new UConnect infotainment system supporting Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa. Material quality might also be classed up. Globally, the Compass facelift will be offered with a new 1.3L turbo petrol engine offering two states of tune – 128bhp with 270N, and 148bhp with 270Nm. While the former will come with a 6-speed manual gearbox, the latter will be offered with a 9-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. In India, the SUV is likely to come with BS6-compliant 1.4L turbocharged petrol motor pushing out a peak power of 161bhp against 250Nm of torque. The petrol variants will continue to come with FWD (front-wheel-drive) system and the AWD (all-wheel-drive) will be reserved for the top-end diesel model.
