The American SUV manufacturer has dropped first teasers of the upcoming 2021 Jeep Compass facelift. The model will made its official debut at the 2020 Guangzhou International Motor Show in China. The SUV’s facelifted version will hit Indian roads sometime next year. The teaser pictures reveal some interesting exterior and interior details of the updated Compass.
The front end has been revised comprehensively with new bumper with a large air dam and newly-designed LED headlamps, new LED DRLs, updated fog lamps and grille with honeycomb-like inserts. The side and rear details of the facelifted Compass are yet to be revealed. Though, the spy pictures confirm that the SUV will receive slightly tweaked taillamps with new inserts and revised rear bumper. The Compass Trailhawk version will get all-black grille, dual-tone hood with signature red hooks and newly-designed alloy wheels.
A new, freestanding 10.1-inch touchscreen with Jeep’s latest Uconnect 5 infotainment system is one of major changes made inside the cabin. The unit also features new AC vents. The completely revised dashboard with leather inserts and double stitching further enhance its premium appeal. Reports suggest that the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift might also come with a new digital instrument console, a 360 degree camera and upgraded ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems). In India, the 2021 Jeep Compass facelift will continue to come with the same set of engines as the outgoing model. It includes a 2.0L, 4-cylinder diesel and a 1.4L turbo petrol unit delivering power worth 170bhp with 350Nm and 161bhp with 250Nm respectively.
FCA’s Ranjangaon based plant in Maharashtra will serve as production hub for the right-hand-drive markets. The SUV might enter into production by the end of this year. Once launched, new Jeep Compass 2021 will continue to take on the Hyundai Tucson and Skoda Karoq.
