The second generation Haval H2 has been branded as the Haval First Love in China. The Chinese SUV maker is known for giving unique names to its SUVs such as the ‘Dagou’ and ‘Big Dog’. With the new Haval H2, Great Wall Motors will target the first time SUV buyers in the Chinese market.

2021 Haval H2 Design

For people not in the know, Haval is Great Wall Motor’s SUV sub-brand. The H2 is a mid-sized SUV, which is slightly larger than the Hyundai Creta. The previous generation Haval H2 was introduced in 2014. The new-generation H2 mid-sized SUV design will remain largely identical to the Haval Concept H. The design of the production-spec Haval H2 is slightly toned down. It features large, chromed-over mesh grille and LED projector headlamps with T-shaped LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps) and additional LED light guides mounted vertically in the front bumper.

The new-gen Haval H2 rides on dual-tone 18-inch alloys, while the Concept H has 19-inch wheels. The SUV has muscular side profile, T-shaped LED tail-lamps, roof-integrated spoiler and rear diffuser.

The second generation Haval H2 interior looks largely identical to the Concept H, featuring a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system. Some of the interior highlights include panoramic sunroof, a heads-up display, a rotary dial for the gear selector, leather seats, multi-functional steering wheel, automatic air-conditioning, etc.

Haval H2 India Launch?

Great Wall Motors had confirmed that it will launch the Haval SUV brand in the Indian market in 2021. The company is planning to buy General Motors’ plant in Talegaon; however, the deal has been halted due to border tension between India and China. The Chinese automaker had announced to invest USD 1 billion in the India. In fact, the company had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Maharashtra Government mid-June.

It is quite early to comment whether Great Wall Motors will bring this SUV in our market. However, the launch could be delayed due to border tensions.
