2021 Ford Bronco 4-Door, 2-Door Unveiled; Pictures, Specs

The much anticipated new-gen 2021 Ford Bronco off-roader has finally been revealed. The new Bronco SUV will directly rival the Jeep Wrangler, which is the best-selling off-roader in its category. The new Bronco family comprises of 4-door, 2-door and Bronco Sport, which are scheduled to be launched in 2021.

The Bronco nameplate returns after 24 years. It was discontinued in 1996 after a 31-year long run. Ford claims that the new Bronco offers “toughness of an F-Series and the spirit of a Mustang.” The new model is available with 2 powertrains, an available manual gearbox and the Sasquatch package. The Sasquatch pack is available with several off-road features from 35-inch tires on 17-inch bedlock wheels to an off-road suspension and rear locking differentials.

The new Ford Bronco is available with a 12-inch Ford SYNC4 infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The company is also giving a host of applications (1000 pre-loaded trail maps, a trail tracking system and others) that will help Bronco owners get outdoors. The SUV also gets an advanced suite of driver assistance systems. It also gets Ford’s innovative Trail Control, which is basically cruise control for off-road, and Trail One-Pedal Drive, to make rock-crawling easier.

Ford has adopted the modular approach, offering seats, steering wheel, a lever for the off-road driving modes and a touchscreen infotainment system. The company is also offering multiple option to buyers to customise interior according to their interest. It is equipped with a built-in device rack, 12-volt power source, and big grab handles on the centre console.

The exterior of the two- and four-door Ford Bronco are inspired by the 1966 Bronco. The SUV has clean design and has brutal presence with hard edges. The two-door models come with a standard three-section roof system, premium painted modular top with four sections that adds a removable panel over the rear seats and cargo area. Four-door models have four removable roof sections – left and right front panels. a full-width center panel and a rear section. Roof panels on all models can be removed by one person by unlocking the latches from the interior. First-row panels stow away onboard on two-door models.

All hardtops have rear quarter windows that are removable in three easy steps – snap, push and lift away in a fraction of the time without removing the roof panels. By locating the sportbar behind the second row, both Bronco two- and four-door models offer the largest overall open-top view in its class to take in the sunshine or to gaze at the stars at night. A cloth soft top, standard on four-door models, provides easy access to the open air and a unique tilt-up function for quick access to the rear cargo area. For customers who don’t want to choose between a soft or hardtop, the four-door model can be optioned with both.

Inside the cabin, the 2021 Ford Bronco gets a multifunction color LCD instrument panel and G.O.A.T. Modes controller in the center console. Available grab handles are integrated into the modular instrument panel and center console, while MOLLE hooks are mounted in the seatbacks. Attachment points are built into the instrument panel to mount a bring-your-own-device rack, with 12-volt power connections to easily mount cameras, navigation units, phones or other devices.

The SUV also gets segment-exclusive 12-inch SYNC4 system with over-the-air updates and seamless integration to the FordPass Performance app with off-road navigation. The FordPass Performance app with off-road navigation is an exclusive feature that allows owners to easily plan, navigate and share their off-road adventures. The SYNC system also displays the available 360 degree camera system with off-road spotter. The SUV is equipped with multiple airbags, Ford C-Pilo360 driver-assit technologies, AdvanceyTrac with Roll Stability Control and Trailer Sway Control.

Ford Bronco Family

The 2021 Ford Bronco is powered by a 2.7-litre EcoBoost V6 engine that is capable of producing 310bhp of power and 542Nm of torque. The SUV also gets a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine producing 270bhp of power and 420Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 7-speed manual gearbox and a 10-speed automatic.
