Japanese automaker, Yamaha has unveiled the new FZ 25 BSVI model ahead of its official launch. Not just mechanical upgrade, the 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 BS6 gets a new look and features. Similar to the 150cc variants, the FZ 25 also gets a premium FZS 25 variant. Bookings for the new models have already been started.

The 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 features a new headlamp setup and engine cowl. The fuel tank design and other body work seem identical to the previous model. It will be offered in 2 colour options – Metallic Black and Racing Blue. The new LED headlamp comes with a projector beam setup, which should improve the illumination. It also gets LED tail-lamps, while the turn indicators continue to use a bulb setup.

Talking about the Yamaha FZS 25 variant, the new model comes equipped with a larger windscreen and knuckle guards. It will be introduced as a touring-friendly motorcycle. The 2020 Yamaha FZS 250 will be offered in 3 colour options – Dark Cyan, Dark Matte Blue and Metallic White. The motorcycle comes equipped with dual disc brakes along with dual-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) as standard. For suspension duties, the bike gets telescopic front forks and monoshock unit at the rear.

Powering the 2020 Yamaha FZ 25 is a BSVI compliant 249cc air-cooled and fuel-injected motor that is capable of producing 20.8PS of power at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 20.1Nm at 6,000rpm. This engine offers just 0.1PS and 0.1Nm less than the BS4-compliant unit. The weight of the motorcycle has been increased by just 1 kg.

It is expected that the new Yamaha FZ 25 BSVI model will be slightly expensive, around 5,000 over the BS4 model. It is likely to be priced around Rs 1.4 lakh, while the premium FZS 25 BS6 could be retailed at Rs 1.45 lakh.
